This intimacy and ferocity that Raf captures as 'Kate' is beautifully interwoven by O Richard Smith on double bass playing those lyrical lines, a notable feature to many of her greatest songs.
Fully live, TKI elegantly and stylishly capture the energy, excitement and fragility of the pieces with subtle production floating through the vocals, acoustic piano and double bass. When lost in the power
of these songs it's quite easy at times to forget that this is just two performers!

Creative crossover artists such as David Bowie and Kate Bush broke the mould showing the oddball can sometimes get through and give inspiration and confidence to believe in following ones own creative voice
The Kick Inside (TKI), fronted by Raf Mantelli as 'Kate', is a tribute to Kate Bush and her early career, focused on her core essence as a pianist singer songwriter.
Kate has given music lovers something to treasure: a great musician and producer, a brilliant composer and an amazing, most unique voice.
Doing justice to her music is no light undertaking, The Kick Inside (named after her debut album) relish the challenge and excitement in performing these gems.
Upon her bespoke piano and launching the listener headlong into the world of Kate's beautiful songs, Raf fabulously captures the detail within the compositions. The intimacy and ferocity she conveys both vocally and visually transports the listener to 'being there', as if invited into Kate's own front room to witness the start of that journey.
